The East Atchison Wolves Baseball Team traveled to St. Joseph, Missouri, Friday, May 11, 2018, to compete in the Class 1, District 16 tournament. The Wolves went head-to-head with DeKalb, winning 3-2.
One of the Wolves’ star pitchers, Jake McEnaney, led things off on the mound for the Wolves. He went six innings, allowing only four hits and two runs while striking out 13. He also went two for three at the plate to lead the Wolves in hits. The Wolves’ other hot-handed pitcher, Gage McAdams, came in as the Wolves’ closer and finished the game with three strikeouts. With the win, the Wolves advanced to the second round of District play on Monday, May 14, against Platte Valley. The Wolves had a great game and won it 6-2.
The Wolves pulled away for good with five runs in the third inning. Hurst went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead the Wolves in hits. McAdams got the start for the Wolves, going seven innings, allowing six hits and two runs while striking out five. Individual EA statistics follow:
