The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) will be conducting a women’s  handgun familiarization and shooting instruction course on Monday, June 4, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.  The course will have two parts, beginning with a classroom portion at the MU Extension Office at 5:30 p.m. followed by the shooting portion at the Atchison County Shooting Sports Range located south of Rock Port.
The focus of the course is to introduce handgun shooting fundamentals to women.
Registration is limited to 20 participants and is required. To register, contact Georgia Houghton at 660-736-4780. Participants may bring their own handguns, a box of ammunition, a lawn chair and preferred eye and ear protection.
MDC will bring additional .22 caliber pistols, .22 caliber ammunition and various other caliber ammunition for practice, eye and ear protection and food and refreshments.
