Tarkio Vacation Bible School “Galactic Starveyors” promises to be packed full of fun, exciting activities for children ages 4 through completion of 6th grade! The Community Wide Vacation Bible School will be held June 1 and 2 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Tarkio Methodist Church at 6th and Broad streets. A concluding celebration will be held Saturday afternoon, June 2.
The VBS kids will participate in a variety of activities. Kids will experience Bible stories, make crafts, learn songs and enjoy recreation and snacks. They will learn about missions overseas as well as those right in our hometown. Lunch will be served each day.
Kids at VBS will learn the importance of sharing God’s Word and love. The children will have an opportunity to help with a world wide mission. Everyone can bring offerings of any amount to help people around the world learn of God’s love for all people. This year’s offering will go to help the Christian Motorcycle Association.
This organization is an interdenominational organization whose mission is dedicated to spreading the Gospel. The children will learn of this outreach ministry at VBS. One aspect of the organization is to provide much needed means of transportation to spread the gospel. CMA has provided a variety of transportation modes, even a camel!
Locally the children will learn firsthand how the needs in our community are met. They will visit such locations as the Nutrition Center, Food Pantry, and Tarkiom Rehab.
The concluding program will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Methodist Church. During the program the children will share songs, Bible verses, and missions they’ve learned about. Friends and families are invited to attend.
Registration forms are available at each of the participating churches. Although pre-registration is not necessary, it would be helpful in planning. Forms may be returned to the churches prior to VBS. Children are also welcome to bring their forms with them to Bible School.
Participating Tarkio churches this year are the Baptist, First Christian, Methodist and Presbyterian. For more information call Jami DeRosier at 660-623-0161 or Patty Rolofson at 660-736-5392. Mark your calendars for a fun-filled Vacation Bible School!
