The City of Fairfax has rented a dumpster which will be located down by the Fire Station June 15-17 from 8 a.m.-8 p.m. This dumpster is to be used to help clean up the town! The following is a list of what cannot be put into the dumpster:
Hazardous waste, explosives, biohazardous waste, medical sharps, ashes, vehicle batteries, dead animals, liquids (paint, oil, grease, herbicides, pesticides), gas tanks, barrels without the end cut out, fluorescent bulbs, appliances, or tires However, we have tried to provide a solution for some of the items. If you wish to dispose of APPLIANCES, CAR OR PICK-UP TIRES, OR TV/ELECTRONICS we have made arrangements for you to do so only on SATURDAY from 8 a.m.-12 noon. There will be specific trailers to load these onto. For tires, there is a disposal fee: car/van tires (14-16”) $5 and pick-up tires (17-18”) $10. As for batteries, they can be taken to city hall, where they are collected and donated.
For other disposal questions or to make arrangements, please contact American Recycling and Sanitation at 660-736-4949. Thanks for taking pride in your home and our town to make it look the best that it can!
