Annie Wakefield of Watson, Missouri, was recognized for 50 years employment with Magnolia Metal Corporation of Auburn, Nebraska. Wakefield’s recognition for five decades of service makes her the first employee of the Auburn industry to achieve this milestone. Wakefield serves as receptionist/secretary and her first day with Magnolia Metal Corp. was on June 3, 1968. Also pictured are (from left) Pierce Koslosky, Chairman/CEO, who presented Wakefield her plaque; Mike Koslosky, President, holding a $5,000 check which he gave the honoree; Bruce Wells, Vice President of Sales, and Scott Reid, Vice President of Manufacturing. Wakefield said the 50 years have gone by very fast and when she first began her commute to work she had to pay a toll charge to cross the Missouri River at the U.S. Highway 136 Brownville bridge. She brought donuts for her peers on June 4 and was surprised with a luncheon served in her honor provided by company officials. (Nemaha County Herald Photo by Darrell Wellman)
