The Atchison-Holt Unit of Missouri Retired Teachers Association and Public School Personnel (MRTA) met June 7 at the Lyceum Restaurant in Brownville, Nebraska.
The Northwest MO Bots club presented a very interesting program. Each member shared their name, length of time with the group, and their job title. Both members and group mentors described the process and procedures for building a robot and what happens at the competition meets they attend. The current club robot then demonstrated how it could move and what it could do.
MRTA members had previously voted to give the group a monetary donation from their treasury. After hearing the youth and their mentors speak, MRTA members were so impressed that they also gave individual monetary donations.
MRTA’s number one priority is to promote and protect pensions, programs, and benefits of all public school personnel in retirement. If you are a retired educator or other school employee, please come join them. The next meeting is September 6 at the Garden Inn south of Mound City off I-29. It will be a morning brunch beginning at 9 a.m.
