Miss Lois Herron, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Herron of Hamburg and Sgt. Conley M. Bennington, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Bennington of Valley View district south of Rock Port, were married at Tarkio on Sunday, June 6th, by Rev. Boyd Patterson at his home. They were accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Richard Schoneman of Tarkio. The bride wore a powder blue suit with pink accessories. The groom was in uniform. The bride is employed at the Beaty store in Tarkio, where she will continue her work while the groom is in the army. Sgt. Bennington is stationed at Fort Deming, New Mexico.

Judges of the county court have contracted with the Rock Port Hardware to lay carpeting in the circuit court room at the courthouse in Rock Port at a cost of $1,085. Carpeting , in a Kelly green, is expected to be laid this week.
Margaret Ann Hays, Peggy Marie McElfish and Ronald Dee Gayler, all of Rock Port, were among 600 students who received degrees from Maryville College at the spring commencement, May 31. Miss Hays, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hays, received a Bachelor of Science in French. She graduated cum laude in her class. Miss McElfish, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joe McElfish, received a Bachelor of Science in English and Gayler, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Gayler received a Bachelor of Art in History.

Sam Lansdown, who has been bowling for about 20 years, represented Rock Port well when he took 2nd place in the 44th Annual Men’s Missouri State Bowling Tournament held in Springfield, Mo. Sam has been competing in state tournaments for six years now. He won a trophy, a patch and cash prize.
The Superintendent of the United States Military Academy, West Point, New York, announced the graduation of Cadet Cort Andrews. Cort is the son of Bill and Darlene Andrews, Rock Port, Missouri, and the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Smith, Amity, Missouri, and Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Andrews, Helena, Missouri.
