The University of Missouri Extension will be hosting a program titled “Who gets Grandma’s Yellow Pie Plate?” Thursday, July 12, 6 – 8 p.m. at the Velma Houts Fair Building in Rock Port, Missouri. The class, taught by Family Financial Education Specialist Gina Lucas, will provide resources to help you confidently pass on your personal possessions. Transferring personal possessions is an issue for everyone: owners of personal property, spouses, adult children, siblings, and grandchildren. This program will help families determine what they want to accomplish through the transferring of their personal property, decide what’s “fair” for their family, understand that belongings have different meanings to different individuals, consider distribution options and consequences, understand sensitivity of estate planning issues and agree to manage conflicts if they arise.
The Velma Houts Fair Building is located at 201 E. Hwy. 136 in Rock Port. This class includes a workbook and will cost $15 per person or $20 per couple sharing a workbook. Please RSVP to 660-744-6231 or meineckea@missouri.edu. The University of Missouri Extension is an equal opportunity/ADA institution; their programs are open to all. If you require special accommodations, please let them know so arrangements can be made.
