Anita Davidson, Ms. Pleasant View, competed in the MHCA Ms. Nursing Home Pageant June 1 at Stoney Creek in St Joseph, Missouri.

 

Rex Siddens, Delvin Bryant and Alene Trueblood attended a Kansas City Royals game.

Pleasant View Nursing Home, Rock Port, started National Nursing Home Week with a “Celebration of Moms” on Monday, May 14. Mothers were each given a pink carnation, and family members were asked to share a story of their mom while enjoying homemade ice cream and cookies.
The theme for the week was “Sharing Life Stories.” Many of the residents’ families made a story board for their loved one to share with residents and staff on Tuesday morning.
Eight residents and six staff members attended the Kansas City Royals game Wednesday, May 16. Everyone had a great time, thanks to all who contributed to this event.
The 4th and 5th grade summer school students came to play flyswatter volleyball with the residents on Wednesday, May 30.
The 3rd grade came Thursday, May 31, and enjoyed playing Hoop de Loop and Sticky Situation.
Anita Davidson represented Pleasant View at the MHCA Ms. Nursing Home Pageant Friday, June 1, in St. Joseph, Missouri. She enjoyed sharing this event with her dear friends, Terry and Ruth Eaton. Lana Nielsen also attended this event and received an award for “CNA of the Year” in District II. Lana will now travel to Branson the last week of August and compete for “CNA of the Year” at the state level.
First grade summer school students visited Tuesday June 5. Everyone went outside to blow bubbles and visit.
The kindergarten class visited Thursday, June 7. It happened to be Itsy Bitsy Spider Day so everyone made spider puppets then settled in while Janis Irvine read “Itsy Bitsy Spider.”
Residents and staff at Pleasant View have really been enjoying the kids’ visits!
