The 8th Annual Rumble by the Refuge Truck and Tractor Pull is set for Friday and Saturday, June 22-23, at the Old Rodeo Grounds in Mound City. The event is sponsored by the Mound City Rural Firemen. The two-day total purse for competitors is $50,950.
The gates open at 5 p.m. on Friday, with the first pull at 6:30 p.m. The Pullers’ Meal will be served at 5 p.m., with spectators having great food choices from multiple vendors around the grounds.
On Saturday morning, 8 a.m.- 11 a.m., Help the Homeless of Northwest Missouri will have a freewill donation, all-you-can-eat biscuits, sausage gravy and scrambled eggs breakfast on the Rumble by the Refuge grounds. Brad Derr, president of the organization, states this same breakfast is served 52 Sunday mornings a year at the Open Door Food Kitchen in St. Joseph, MO. Help the Homeless of Northwest Missouri provides a variety of furniture, household items, beds, appliances, all kinds of clothing and products for hygiene kits to the homeless or needy in northwest Missouri, free of charge. “This is God’s project, we are just the delivery guys,” says Derr.
The gates open again at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, and pulling events begin at 6:30 p.m. Spectators that come early will have plenty of time to shop at the merchandise and food vendor booths as well as find a good place to sit.
An American Farmers Challenge custom pistol will be given away in each class. The classes in the truck and tractor pull are:

Daily admission costs for the Truck and Tractor Pull are $15 for adults and $10 for kids 12 and under. No coolers are allowed in the fenced area. Drinks and food are sold on the premises.
