The Tarkio Golf Club is hosting a youth golf clinic for area youth. It will be held Tuesday through Thursday, July 10 through 12, and led by Brad Volker. Volker is a graduate of Tarkio High School and is teaching pro at Shoal Creek Golf Course in Liberty, Missouri. Brad is excited to share his love for golf with the area youth.
The clinic on Tuesday will be for area boy and girl golfers who will be attending high school this fall. Brad will be assisted in this clinic by Jase Hughes, Mike Fisher, Ambera Pearson, and Brett Wennihan. The plan is for some of the high school golfers to help with the other clinics. The golfers will work on individual skills and fundamentals from 9 to 11 a.m. followed by lunch (sloppy Joes provided by Kyra Mills, and hot dogs) and a nine-hole tournament.

The clinic on Wednesday will be the same schedule, but for golfers ages 6-9 and with a three-hole tournament.
The clinic on Thursday will follow the same schedule, but for 10-13 year olds with a three-hole tournament.
Tournament prices will be awarded. All participants will receive a sleeve of golf balls and some tees. The cost of the clinic is $10 per participant. High school golfers are asked to bring their own clubs and all other golfers please bring your set if you have one. There will be some individual youth clubs that can be used. Though participants will be accepted the day of, golfers are asked to please call ahead of time and register at the Tarkio Golf Club (660-736-4776). Local businesses and individuals helping sponsor the clinic are the Tarkio Golf Club, Colfax Farmers Mutual, Kelly Rohlfsen, Farmers State Bank, Ed Salmond CPA, Rogers Pharmacy, Hy-Vee, Vicki Pearson Farm, Tarkio Chamber of Commerce, and the Tarkio Rotary Club. This is the second year for this clinic and will hopefully be a yearly event. If you would like to help support this event in the future through financial support, volunteering with Brad, or serving lunch, please contact the Tarkio Golf Club and your name will be taken down.
