Missouri State Auditor Nicole Galloway released an audit of Atchison County. The regularly scheduled audit received an overall rating of “good.”
“I am pleased to find Atchison County operating with transparency and efficiency,” Auditor Galloway said. “Having best practices in place throughout county government ensures that government is operating with the best interests of taxpayers in mind.”
The audit made recommendations to the sheriff’s office, including issuing receipt slips and using pre-numbered bond forms in order to improve accounting procedures and prevent potential oversights.
