The Holt County Historical Society will host “Madness in Mound City” Saturday, August 4, 2018, on the Depot Museum lawn at the south end of State Street in Mound City, Missouri.

The day-long fun event will feature a car, truck, tractor and motorcycle Show and Shine from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m., with registration from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. There is no entry fee. There will be gift bags for everyone and dash plates for the first 50 signing in. The trophies, a first place in each class, and a Best of Show, will be awarded at 2:30 p.m.
Kids will want to check out the opportunity to “touch a truck” and get a close-up view of a fire truck, a tractor, and other vehicles. The Depot Museum, filled with Mound City’s history galore, will be open from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. with free admission.

Mound City’s Curtis Wayne Stroud’s Dynamic Duo will provide entertainment. Several vendors will be around offering food, drinks, crafts, snacks, and more. Early morning arrivals will be treated to the United Methodist Church Share On Saturday group offering coffee and homemade “rolls, scones, and other sweet treats” to start the day!
The day will end with an opportunity for entrants to show off their vehicles. A “Motorin’ ’Round Mound City Car Cruise” will begin at 3 p.m.
