With such perfect weather and beautiful surroundings, the Northwest Missouri Enterprise Facilitation was so appreciative of all who participated in the 9th Annual Missouri’s Great Northwest Wine Fest September 22 at North Griffith Park, Mound City. Although the crowd was about 500 short of the participants of the year before the committee related that so many other events were going on around the area.  Those attending had a most pleasant time.

The 11 wineries in attendance were most pleased as were the five eateries and the artisan booths. Everyone wholeheartedly agreed that the entertainment was just extraordinarily fantastic. “Everything went so smoothly and it was such a relaxing day for those in attendance,” commented Marilyn Alldredge, coordinator for the event. “There was such a variety of booths and everyone enjoyed the delicious wines, and foods. People took to the tables and some even took to the grass dance floor while enjoying the entertainment,” she concluded.

Linda Haddock, co-owner of Ladoga Ridge Winery, Smithville, commented, “This is our favorite wine fest! It is so well organized and the committee is so helpful and friendly. I think all the wineries agree with me. We look forward to next year. Most all of the 11 wineries had new wines to offer.”

The sponsorships this year really helped make the total income much more of a successful realization. Alpha Phi Omega Fraternity, NWMO State University, assisted with cleanup as a volunteer project.

The 10th annual event will be determined once a Bearcat football schedule for 2019 can be obtained as not to conflict with a home game. Everyone’s volunteering, attendance and participation is most appreciated. All proceeds go toward the future works of NWMEF’s ability to assist new entrepreneurs and small businesses become reality with free confidential coaching from Facilitator Keli Morris of Savannah.
