October 14, 1993

• A new 1991 GMC chassis and a custom built stainless steal tank that will hold 1600 gallons was delivered to the Fairfax fire station this week. The new truck replaces the old tanker truck which was a late 1966 or 1967 model and held 1,000 gallons of water.

October 10, 1968

• In an auction sale Saturday afternoon on the streets of Fairfax, Robert Allen Kirkpatrick of Jameson was high bidder on the 32-year old fire-fighting vehicle. He paid $640 for the antique truck, stating that he made a hobby of collecting different types of old machines. He also has in his possession an antique steam engine.

October 15, 1943

• Jack Kruse celebrated his sixth birthday Saturday afternoon at the country home of his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Hermon Kruse. Jack received many nice gifts. Games were played and refreshments of ice cream, cake, popcorn balls, and candy were served.

• Twice as many bobbie pins and hairpins,
“necessary feminine items,” will be produced during 1944 as at present, under a recent WPB action.
