The Tarkio Police Department has created a “Safe Exchange Zone” for private buyers and sellers who wish to have a safe meeting location to exchange their goods or for child custody exchanges. The zone, located in the parking area of Tarkio City Hall at 602 Main Streets (the zone is on the 6th Street side), is not only located next to the Tarkio Police Department, but it is also monitored by 24-hour video surveillance.
