The TEC Club met October 9, 2018, at the home of Susan Braams during the Missouri monsoon season. It was very special day for Debbie Johnson who, with Janell McQuinn as partner, “Shot the Moon” and made it. For those readers who aren’t familiar with “shooting the moon,” that means you win the entire game, forty points. It rarely happens and there was the appropriate screaming and yelling to celebrate the occasion. Of course she won high score. I had second high, and Merylan Lowrey had low score.
Susan was hostess. Dessert was served between sets and was the appropriate October delight of pumpkin pie. One member admitted she hated pumpkin, but the rest of us, me especially, enjoyed it with whipped topping added, of course. We talked of wrecks and weather, and past experiences with skiing, and finally, about how we met our husbands. That was when someone mentioned it was time to get back to pitch. Rain or shine, pitch is always interesting.
