Beverley Ellen Slemp, age 90, Fairfax, Missouri, died October 14, 2018, at Community Hospital-Fairfax, Fairfax, after a brief illness.
Beverley was born July 25, 1928, in Farragut, Iowa. She was one of three children born to Merle and Opal (Martin) Barton. She was a graduate of Fairfax High School, Class of 1945.
Beverley was united in marriage to Wesley Dean Slemp. To this union two children were born, Doug and Deborah. Wesley preceded her in death on January 17, 2008.
Beverley was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Fairfax. She was very involved in the church, being a deacon, Sunday School teacher, secretary of Presbyterian Women and also a choir member.
Beverley was a homemaker and had also worked as a dietary aide at Community Hospital-Fairfax.
Others preceding her in death were her parents; granddaughter, Tracy Rhoades; a brother, William Barton; and two sisters-in-law, Viola and Ruth Barton.
Survivors include: son, Doug (Jutta) Slemp and daughter Deborah “Debbie” (Vernon) Rhoades, both of Fairfax, Missouri; three grandchildren, Sandy Rhoades, Fairfax, Carrie Karg, Clarinda, Iowa, and Andrea Carder, Rock Port, Missouri; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday, October 19, 2018, at the First Presbyterian Church, Fairfax. Burial was in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Fairfax.
Memorials may be given to the First Presbyterian Church, Fairfax.
Arrangements were under the direction of Schooler Funeral Home, Fairfax/Craig.
