The Fairfax Board of Aldermen held its regular meeting Wednesday, October 17, 2018. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Ryan Kingery at 6:40 p.m. Roll was taken: aldermen Kristi Duering, Beth Graves, and Tabitha Wintz; Mayor Ryan Kingery; Water Superintendent John Brown; City Clerk Kristy McDonald; and Treasurer Danny Kemerling.

The tentative agenda was approved. The regular minutes of September 19, 2018, were also approved, as well as accounts payable.

Staff Reports

Danny Kemerling presented his treasurer report that showed all accounts are in balance.

Ryan Kingery gave his report on the Northwest Regional Council meeting.

Kristy McDonald gave an update on court fees that have been paid by property owners and some still outstanding. There are still properties in town that need cleaned up and we are looking into options that are available for the city to help with that.

John Brown asked the council for the approval for a property owner to remove his sidewalk. After a brief discussion, Tabitha Wintz moved to approve the sidewalk removal, Kristi Duering seconded, and the motion passed unanimously.

Discussions regarding the use of the city’s wastewater as land irrigation that has previously been discussed is on hold for the time being.

They would like to work on fixing more streets in town by milling and rocking. The grader is needing some repairs done before they will be able to start. After a short discussion it was decided that it would be best to wait until spring to start on the project.

There was a discussion about changing November’s meeting date since it was scheduled for the day before Thanksgiving. It was decided to move the meeting to November 19 at 6:30 p.m. The meeting was adjourned at 7:40 p.m.
