The Fairfax FCCLA Chapter gained three new members this year. For initiation, the group started off with breakfast in the family and consumer sciences classroom and followed with dressing up the new initiates. This year’s theme was “The Chipettes” with Stormie Wallace as Jeanette, Gena Mitchell as Eleanor, and Hayley Palmer as Brittany. These new members had fun skipping around the track singing their theme song and going to class and saying a phrase when addressed. The evening of October 15th, the FCCLA officers, including president Shanna Gilpin, vice-president Shelbey Morris, treasurer Kinley Thornhill and Jaycee Graves (stepping in for historian Morgan O’Riley) conducted the formal initiation ceremony for the initiates, parents and guests. After inducting the new members, everyone enjoyed refreshments of cake and punch while visiting. The chapter looks forward to the coming year with its new members.
