The Brownville Village Theatre is expanding beyond its regular season to present “It’s A Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play” by Joe Landry, during the Christmas In Brownville celebration.

The play is a fresh and inventive take on Frank Capra’s classic Christmas story, “It’s a Wonderful Life.”  Set in a 1940’s radio station, the ensemble cast play dozens of characters to create the story as a live radio broadcast with live sound effects, and retro inspired radio commercials sprinkled throughout. The cast tells the story of the life of idealistic George Bailey, a man who has given up his dreams in order to help others, and whose imminent suicide one Christmas Eve brings about the intervention of his guardian angel, Clarence Oddbody. Clarence shows George all the lives he has touched and how different life in his community of Bedford Falls would be if he had never been born.

Performances run November 30 at 7:30 p.m., December 1 at 7:30 p.m., and December 2 at 2 p.m. Tickets may be purchased online at http://www.brownvillevillagetheatre.com or by calling the box office at 402-825-4121.
