Robert Jackson, Board Chair of Community Hospital-Fairfax, was recognized by the Missouri Hospital Association as 2018 Trustee of the Year. The award was presented Thursday, Nov. 8, during MHA’s 96th Annual Convention & Trade Show at Tan-Tar-A Resort in Osage Beach, Missouri.
“Bob Jackson is the embodiment of an engaged board leader,” said Herb B. Kuhn, MHA President and CEO. “He brings a lifetime of experience and a passion for the organization that translates into real value for Community Hospital-Fairfax and the communities the hospital serves.”
After a nearly 40-year career in manufacturing, production and quality assurance in California, Jackson returned to northwest Missouri to be closer to family. In 2007, he was asked to serve on a Community Hospital-Fairfax capital campaign and joined the hospital board in 2009. He has served as board chair since 2012.
Jackson’s experience in quality assurance proved transferrable to the hospital’s quality improvement efforts, while his business acumen helped the hospital navigate rural hospital finance. During his tenure, Jackson has been active in various hospital activities – from the hospital’s community health needs assessment to participation in statewide and national hospital advocacy efforts.
