True crime writer, law enforcement trainer, youth culture specialist and television personality Phil Chalmers spoke to Atchison County students at Tarkio High School Wednesday morning, November 7, 2018.  Phil performs his powerful school assembly, True Lies, to young adolescents around the globe.

To better explain to the students that they all have worth, Phil Chalmers had volunteer Gabby DeRosier help him demonstrate this by explaining a $20 bill, even wrinkled or stomped on, etc., is still worth $20.

All three Atchison County schools gathered for an assembly on teen violence on Wednesday, November 7, at Tarkio High School.

Phil Chalmers is a True Crime writer, police trainer and a TV personality. He was on A&E’s “Killer Kids” and FOX’s “Crime Watch Daily.” His current projects include a  book on troubled teens and another about serial killers as well as a Netflix d´ocumentary.

“Phil’s message went perfectly with our messages to the students through our ALiCE Program, Situational Awareness, and DARE programs. As we continue and grow our partnerships with our schools we will continue to seek out new programs to teach, new information to share and even speakers to bring. Our goal is not only to keep our students safe, but provide information and guidance to help them and empower them to make the best decisions they can,” Deputy Sons said.
