Santa Claus, or should we say “Santa Paws,” left his busy workshop at the North Pole and flew his sleigh to Atchison County Veterinary Clinic in Tarkio for #ShopAC Thursday, November 15, 2018. He posed with his furry, four-legged friends, including Ethel and Fred, owned by Jessica and Dustin Lambertsen, for two hours that evening.
The ACDC #ShopAC event was a success, with over 25 businesses participating.
Many businesses extended their store hours, held special sales and had pop-up shops in Atchison County.
Patrons submitted over 150 passports by 8 p.m. on Thursday, November 15.
The passports were used for raffle drawings. The winners of $100 to the AC store of choice were: Myra Evans, Nancy Hurst, and Ginny Smith. The winner of the $200 AC gift certificate was Maggie Lair. Trudy Lowrey won a bonus prize of a $50 AC gift certificate for visiting and making a purchase at all 25 participating locations.
MDT Woodworks had lots of festive items on display in anticipation of all the holiday shoppers out and about.
KG Buds, owned by Kay Graves, was beautifully decorated for #ShopAC. The shop was also hosting its Christmas Open House Thursday through Saturday, November 15-17.
Fairfax junior Jesse Graves set up Jesse’s Jams and Jellies at KG Buds. Jesse makes the jams and jellies for her FFA project and sells the jars for $5 in many flavors including strawberry, pepper, watermelon and red raspberry.
Jim Salmond, owner of The Walnut Shop in Fairfax, offered some great deals during #ShopAC.
