Amanda Nicole Liess was welcomed to the world by Larry and Diana Liess July 23, 1985. She was born to stand out. As she grew she was soon dancing into people’s hearts. She welcomed each new sibling with kisses and hugs and took on her role as big sister with dedication.
She was crowned Little Miss Sweetheart in primary school and she wore that crown every day. She graduated from Tarkio High School lettering in music in 2006. Her love of music and art continued. She enjoyed dancing, singing and would give performances to captive audiences. She took her crayons and put color in everyone’s lives.
Amanda was an athlete in the Special Olympics and brought home many medals and ribbons for basketball and bowling.
She passed away November 30, 2018, at her home in Rock Port, from pancreatic cancer.
Preceding her in death was great-grandfather, Smith Liess, and grandparents, Freddie and Dixie Liess, and Jim and Donna Rightsell.
Survivors include her sisters, Jessica Liess and fiancé Eric Sollars of Country Club Village, Missouri, and Melissa Mathews and husband Jake Mathews of Rock Port; brothers, Adam Liess and wife Rebecca of Rock Port, and Danial Liess, girlfriend Kayliann Fox, and nephew Kai of Clearmont, Missouri; and nephew Remington Mathews of Rock Port.
Memorial services were held Tuesday, December 4, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. at the Rock Port Baptist Church. Care entrusted to Chamberlain Funeral Home, Rock Port. Online condolences may be left at www.chamberlainfuneral.com.
