Rock Port and surrounding community will be pleased to know that Dr. R. L. Curfman, the town’s only dentist and one of but three such practitioners remaining in Atchison County, will not be called to service in the medical corps. He went to Kansas City the first of the week on call to report, but was advised that in view of the lack of dentists in Atchison County he should return to his practice here. There are few professional men who are as hard pressed with patients, or serve as long hours as does Dr. Curfman, and to have taken him from the town would have been little short of a calamity.
