The Rock Port elementary, junior high and high school music departments presented their holiday program on Monday, December 10, at the Rock Port High School Gymasium. This year’s theme was “A Joy to the World Christmas” and featured many renditions of Joy to the World. The program was directed by Mrs. Abby Palmer with accompaniment by Mr. Richard Boettner.
The 5th Grade Beginning Band performed “Good King Wenceslas,” “Jingle Bells,” “Jolly Old St. Nick,” and “Kwanza Celebration.”
The 6th Grade Intermediate Band played “Do You Hear What I Hear?” and “December Triptych.”
Songs the 7th and 8th Grade Junior High Band performed included “Sounds of the Season” and “White Christmas.”
The 8th Grade Chorus sang “Hark! The Herald Angels Sing,” “We Three Kings,” and “Joy to the World.”
The High School Chorus sang “Last Christmas” with senior soloists Josie Watkins and Emma Pankau, “Grown-Up Christmas List,” and “Joy to the World.”
The High School Concert Band performed “Joy to the World” and “Christmas In Other Lands.”
