Several law enforcement officials from the Conservation Department, Atchison County Sheriff’s Department, and Tarkio and Rock Port City Police helped children pick out toys.
Atchison County law enforcement officials and employees made Christmas even better for a group of area children on December 21, 2018, thanks to “Shop With A Cop.” This fundraiser allows officers from Atchison County to take children shopping for themselves and family members during the holidays. In its 8th year in Atchison County, Shop With A Cop helps foster positive relationships between youth and officers.
This year, Shop With A Cop brought extra holiday cheer to 22 local children. Thanks to donations from this year and in 2017, there was over $4,000 available to purchase toys for children.
The event would not be possible without the myriad of donations from the community, Rock Port Chief of Police Shannon Sherwood said. All of the offices and personnel involved with the Shop with a Cop program would like to thank these generous donors:
