Neither rain or snow or a muddy driveway could keep us away. Sorosis met December 17, 2018, at the home of Pam Cooper. The sun was shining and we enjoyed a beautiful afternoon. The meeting was called to order by President Debbie Johnson. Roll call was: A Christmas I remember from my childhood. We won’t talk about age, but most of our answers involved special gifts and sharing with loved ones. We even had a story about harvesting a tree ahead of time and placing it in a bucket of wet sand to green up before the holiday arrived. There was no mention of gadgets, computers or drones. Time may be passing us by but we are still enjoying the ride.

The minutes of the previous meeting and the treasurer’s report were read and approved. We welcomed two new members to our club this year. We are pleased to have Bobbie Schooler and Martha Shaffer join us.

The critic report from Judy was from Mother Teresa. It is Christmas every time you let God love others though you. Yes, it is Christmas every time you smile at your brother and offer him your hand. What a wonderful way to celebrate Christmas every day.

Unfinished business: After a short discussion, Carolyn made a motion to give $25.00 to the After Prom party. Barbara seconded the motion and all approved. Judy Holtz delivered canned goods to the Food Pantry and we received a letter of appreciation from them.

The Bon Mot and Collect were read and we moved on to opening presents, dessert, coffee, and punch. This year we decided to spend $5.00 instead of $1.00. It made our shopping much easier. It’s always fun to see what you get, but watching friends laughing and having fun is the real gift. Pam again chose a game to test our brains. Debbie Johnson did very well and we decided young brains work much better than old ones. I’m beginning to think we’ll be much smarter at the end of our Sorosis year. Or not!!!
