For the second year in a row, the East Atchison Lady Wolves earned the Fairfax Basketball Tournament Championship trophy after a week of taking down the competition. At the end of the tournament, the girls were 15-0. The 87th Annual Fairfax Tournament was held last week at Fairfax High School in Fairfax, Missouri. It was a week filled with action-packed games and activities and the Atchison County athletes had a great showing at the event. Due to snow and slick road conditions, some of the games were postponed to this week (Thursday, January 17, beginning at 4:30 p.m.)
The East Atchison Lady Wolves won the championship game by defeating Nodaway-Holt. They are currently 15-0.
The East Atchison Wolves were to play Saturday for the championship, but the game was postponed to Thursday at 7:30 p.m. against South Holt.
The Rock Port Lady Blue Jays won consolation by defeating St. Joe Christian.
The Rock Port Blue Jays will play Thursday at 4:30 p.m. against St. Joe Christian for consolation.
