The Atchison County Commission met Thursday, January 24, 2019. Present were: Presiding Commissioner Curtis Livengood, South District Commissioner Richard Burke, and Susette Taylor, Clerk of the Commission. North District Commissioner Jim Quimby was absent.

Presiding Commissioner Livengood called the meeting to order.

Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.

Bills were reviewed and approved.

Clerk Taylor presented the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission county agreement for review as approved by county counsel Brett Hurst. South District Commissioner The commissioners voted to approve the agreement as presented. Clerk Taylor will forward the agreement to MoDOT for final execution.

The Commission, Clerk Taylor and Assessor Lori Jones met with the Rock Port, Tarkio and Fairfax superintendents at 9:30 a.m. to discuss numbers agreeable to all that could be presented to Ameren to reach a settlement which would allow the current project to move forward. All were in agreement of a final offer. Presiding Commissioner Livengood contacted Ameren with the details. Ameren stated they will review the offer and get back to the county.

Clerk Taylor received notification that SB-72, sponsored by Senator O’Laughlin in support of wind being locally assessed, will be heard before the committee Tuesday, January 29. Presiding Commissioner Livengood, South District Commissioner Burke, ACDC Director Monica Bailey and Fairfax Superintendent Dr. Jeremy Burright will all be testifying on behalf of Atchison County.
