Second Saturday Surplus will open for its first day of business on Saturday, March 9, in the Fireworks World Building, which is now called the Northwest Missouri Expo Center. Owner Karen Brown says that customers will be able to find something unique each second Saturday of the month.

There are rows and rows of candles, scented wax cubes, seasonal decor, antiques and more available at Second Saturday Surplus.

Karen Brown is excited to announce a new business called Second Saturday Surplus, located in the Fireworks World Building at 100 Independence Drive in Rock Port. Second Saturday Surplus will be open on the second Saturday of every month, starting March 9, 2019, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The building, now called the Northwest Missouri Expo Center, will house Second Saturday Surplus and Fireworks World during the Fourth of July Fireworks season.

Inside Second Saturday Surplus, customers will find a large collection of goods at less than or equal  to wholesale prices. There is a large collection of gifts, consignment items, antiques and unique finds.

“The consignment element will be interesting because I know a lot of people who have crafts or furniture that they like to redo but do not have an outlet to sell them and hopefully this will be able to help them do that,” Karen said.

Karen also said that she has many connections with businesses, from distributors of cutlery and knives to seasonal decor that she will buy from to help stock the shelves.

People can expect to find  great deals on jewelry, candles and seasonal decor. There are several select items like candles, Christmas ornaments and more are buy three get the fourth one free.
