Smart Steps Preschool
Fairfax R-3 School District Smart Steps Preschool is currently full for the 2019-20 school year. However, the school will take names for the waiting list (this will help ensure you get on the list for the following year as well).
Students must be 3 years of age before August 1, 2019, and must be potty trained to attend in the fall of 2019. Tuition is $100 per month. Call 660-686-3424 (ext. 2) to enroll.
Fairfax 2019-20 Kindergarten
If your child will be attending kindergarten in the fall of 2019, please call the elementary office (660-686-3424 ext. 2) to sign up. Students must be 5 years of age before August 1, 2019, to enroll in kindergarten. Round-up and screenings will be held on April 10, 2019.
Early childhood screenings at Tarkio Elementary
Early childhood screenings for children ages 3-5 who are not entering kindergarten in the fall will be held March 27 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Tarkio Elementary. These screenings will check your child’s development in the areas of language, motor and concepts. They also receive a hearing and vision screening from the school nurse, Meghan Hughes.
Kids’ Korner students will be taken to the screening from class. You do not need to be present, but are welcome. If you are interested in having your child participate in this FREE developmental/health screening, please call the elementary office at 660-736-4177 to schedule a time. It takes about one hour to complete a screening. This is a very important part of your child’s young years and parents are urged to participate in this free service.
Kids’ Korner enrollment
Enrollment for Kids’ Kor-ner, the Tarkio R-I preschool, will be held Thursday, March 14, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Enrollment packets are available at Kids’ Kor-ner Preschool, located next to Tarkio Elementary at 1201 Pine Street, Tarkio. You may pick up an enrollment packet anytime between 7:30-2:45 p.m. Enrollment is based on order received, 4-year-olds receiving spots then 3-year-olds.
Rock Port early childhood screenings
Early childhood screenings will be held for any child ages 2.6 – 4 years of age in the Rock Port School District on Thursday, March 28, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Call 660-744-6294 to schedule an appointment or for questions.
