Sanford D. “Sandy” Lisle, the son of Sanford Aubrey and Gladys Cleora (Weddle) Lisle, was born October 20, 1936, in Grant City, Missouri. He attended Hatfield School.

In March 1953, Sandy was united in marriage to Nadeen Parkhurst and they became the parents of five children, Patti, Sheila, Dennis, Danny, and Marlene. They later divorced. Sandy was united in marriage to Raymonetta (Rocha) McCabe and they became the parents of sons, Tracey and Terry Lisle, Rick, Randy, and Leroy (Kick) McCabe. They were later divorced. On July 30, 1970, Sandy was united in marriage to Judy (Jackson) Hughes and they became the parents of one daughter, Stephanie. They later divorced. On April 10, 1991, Sandy found his life companion, Shirlee (Gilchrist) Smith. They shared their life for 22 years, and Sandy became “Pop” to Shirlee’s daughters, Susan and Melissa. On December 6, 2013, they were united in marriage and spent 28 wonderful years together.

Sandy was employed with Anderzon Excavating in Omaha, Nebraska, and J.D. Lockard, Stella, Nebraska. In 1970, he moved to Rock Port, Missouri, and established Lisle Construction. He was a heavy equipment operator who provided excavation, dirt removal, demolitions, cleaned drainage ditches, erected silos and disassembled railroad tracks. Sandy passed away Saturday, March 9, 2019, at his home, next to his beloved river, surrounded by his wife and family, in Rock Port, at the age of 82.

In addition to his parents, Sandy was preceded in death by two sons, Tracey and Terry Lisle; daughter-in-law, Maggie Lisle; siblings, Ladonna Murdock, Dean Lisle, Marie Warren, and Shirley Foley; and two nephews and two nieces.

Survivors include wife, Shirlee Lisle, Rock Port; nine children, Patti Brickey and husband, Walter, Windsor, Missouri, Sheila Burford and husband, Dan, Green Ridge, Missouri, Dennis Lisle, Bethany, Missouri, Danny Lisle and wife, Becky, Eagleville, Missouri, Marlene Sicht and husband, Larry, Green Ridge, Leroy (Kick) McCabe and wife, Joan, Honey Creek, Iowa, Stephanie Anderson and husband, Rusty, Hopkins, Missouri, Susan Smith and Linda Mason, Rogersville, Missouri, and Melissa White and companion, Todd Fogg, Fairfax, Missouri; 33 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter, Ginny Jean Thraillkill; countless nieces, nephews and cousins.

A celebration of life family visitation will be held 1:00-2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 20, 2019, at the Velma Houts Building, Rock Port, Missouri. A private family inurnment will be held at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the Rock Port Volunteer Fire Department and First Responders.
