Charlotte Marie (Gardner) Armstrong was born in Payne, Iowa, on June 11, 1931. She grew up in Hamburg, Iowa, and married Gerald “Tiny” Armstrong on December 31, 1948. They lived in northwest Missouri most of their married lives and became parents of four children.

Charlotte worked for several years at Wright Nursery in Hamburg. After their children were born, she was a stay-at-home mom, but found time to sell fireworks, grow watermelons, and raise AKC registered poodles, dachshunds, westies and Shih Tzus. She also raised rabbits, chickens, turkeys, guineas, geese, and pigs.

One of her favorite memories was picking up corn with Arvella Roberts, Mary Harbin, and Lucille Webster. Charlotte loved to garden, and go hunting and fishing with Tiny.

Following her husband’s death, Charlotte moved to live with her daughter, Christy, in Minnesota. She became an avid Minnesota Twins fan, and continued her love for dogs, spending time with her companion Shih Tzu, Bear.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 2011; their son, Glenn; sister, Georgie Branson; and brother, Suel Gardner.

She is survived by her children, Gerald “Denny” Armstrong, Lawrence, Kansas, Marcha Armstrong, Tarkio, Missouri, Christy (Dave) Hatcher, Stillwater, Minnesota; honorary daughter, Mary Eyman, Omaha, Nebraska; daughter-in-law, Anita Armstrong, Watson, Missouri; former son-in-law, Ron Lotter, Auburn, Nebraska; former daughter-in-law, Wanda Armstrong, Lenexa, Kansas; grandchildren, Tina Reynolds, Margie Armstrong-Harper, Dolly (Kris) Brechin, Beau, Michael, Jacob, and David Armstrong, Jeff Lotter (Dawn Niles), Shawn (Nicole) Lotter, Rhonda (Craig) Aue, Lindsey, Miles and Kelsey Hatcher; and numerous great-grandchildren.
