A one-vehicle crash at the intersection of Route N and Hwy. 46 in Atchison County sent one driver to the hospital March 20, 2019. The crash occurred as a 2014 Ford Fusion, driven by Amy M. Midyett, 46, was southbound on Route N and failed to stop at a posted stop sign. The Ford travelled off the southbound side of Hwy. 46 and became airborne, striking the ground at the bottom of the embankment and coming to rest on its wheels facing south on the southwest corner of the intersection.

Midyett, who was wearing a seat belt, received moderate injuries and was transported to Community Hospital-Fairfax in Fairfax, Missouri, by an Atchison-Holt ambulance. The 2014 Ford Fusion was totaled and towed from the scene by Double M Towing of Rock Port.

The accident was investigated by Missouri State Highway Patrol Cpl. S.M. Hux, who was assisted by the Atchison County Sheriff’s Department.
