Kansas ranchers delivered a load of hay, fencing, cleaning supplies, water, and other supplies to Chad and Mandy Ottmann.

It’s truly inspirational when people go out of their way to “pay it forward,” especially in the current situation of the 2019 Flood. Local farmers and cattle owners Chad and Mandy Ottmann recently found out how wonderful it is to see true kindness after fellow Rock Port citizen Adam Meyerkorth contacted them about Gena Kirk and Dave Noll from Kansas, who wanted to help anyone affected by the flood.

The ranchers were headed to Rock Port with a truck load of hay, fencing, cleaning supplies, water and other supplies and wanted to know who they could help. The connection between everyone makes the story even better: in 2017, the ranchers in Kansas experienced devastating loss when wildfires spread across the state and burned over 650,000 acres of  farmland and pastures. They received help and equipment after the fires and wanted to pay it forward, so when they heard about the flood in Missouri, they started asking how they could help, which eventually led them to connect with Adam Meyerkorth.

Adam put them in touch with the Ottmanns, who lost hay and feed for their cattle as well as damage to their business offices and rental properties. Before they knew it, a semi load, decorated with an American Flag, arrived at their door. “There are no words to express our gratitude. And to the two new friends we made, I can only say we will do our best to pay it forward,” Mandy said.
