The Rock Port Tourism Board met Tuesday, April 2, 2019, at Rock Port City Hall. Members present were Diana Liess, Holly Huntley, Mike Farmer, Angela Mace, Chris Shimmel and Jody VanSickle. Mandy Herron and Tami Lansdown were absent. Also present was City Clerk Emily Schulte.

Diana Liess called the meeting to order. Board members voted to approve the meeting agenda.

They also voted to approve the March 5, 2019, meeting minutes and the March 2019 financials.

The empty board position was discussed. Mike will reach out to Karen and Elizabeth Brown.

The Art Exhibit event is scheduled for April 10, 5:30-7:00 p.m. in the high school. The board is collaborating with the Art Club and students are assisting in set-up. Several students and community members will showcase their work. Mike will be getting snacks and refreshments. Entry will be a freewill donation with proceeds going to the Art Club.

The Park Board will be contacted in regards to collaboration on a movie night for May.

The Rock Port Chamber of Commerce was present at a previous meeting to request funds for Old Fashioned Saturday Night advertising expenses. Board members voted to approve $450 for OFSN advertising.

Discussion was held regarding funds requested from the Tourism Board for other entities’ events. Board members voted to pay half of advertising expenses incurred for outside events, not initiated or collaborated on by the Tourism Board, up to a maximum $250 with paid receipts. A member from the requesting entity must attend a board meeting prior to their event taking place to obtain approval.

The next meeting date will be held Tuesday, May 7, 2019, at 6:00 p.m.
