The Tarkio High School Scholar Bowl Team placed 2nd in the Class 1, District 16 Tournament Saturday, April 6, 2019. Ethan Lucas was the top scorer for the tournament earning the #1 spot on the six-member All-District Team.

The Class 1, District 16 Scholar Bowl Tournament was held at Rock Port High School Saturday, April 6, 2019.

In Round 1, Nodaway-Holt defeated West Nodaway 180-120, Rock Port defeated Tarkio 410-170, and Mound City had a bye. In Round 2, Rock Port beat West Nodaway 390-70, Mound City defeated Nodaway-Holt 320-140, and Tarkio had a bye. In Round 3, Tarkio defeated Mound City 210-180, Rock Port defeated Nodaway-Holt 350-40, and West Nodaway had a bye. In the 4th Round, Rock Port beat Nodaway-Holt 380-200 to advance to the championship. Tarkio defeated Mound City 280-240 to face Rock Port in the championship.

The final round had Rock Port and Tarkio teams going head-to-head, with Rock Port winning the tournament 360-210. Rock Port’s individual total points were: Captain Ethan Lucas – 430, Ayden Wilroy – 100, Josie Watkins – 90, and Riley Vogler – 40. Ethan was also the top scorer for the tournament.

Individual team members receiving All-District honors  include Josiah Foust of Mound City, Tillie Stanton of Nodaway-Holt, Ethan Lucas of Rock Port, Cat Prater and Aaron Schlueter of Tarkio, and Duke Ingraham and Emily Ricketts of West Nodaway.
