Pat Wessler holds and displays some of the large print books purchased from her donation to the Tarkio Library.

Tarkio resident Pat Wessler loves to read and she is grateful for her local libraries. Pat really appreciates titles that are available in large print and she enjoys her fiction on the “gentle” side.

Earlier this year, Mrs. Wessler asked if the Tarkio Library could have an outreach service or home delivery of books for people who are not able to visit the library in person. Library Director Janice Rosenbohm and Tarkio Library Manager Carol Riley are working on making that service a reality.

In February, Mrs. Wessler was so intent on making this project a reality she donated a very generous amount of money to the library to help in any way needed to promote this project. Mrs. Rosenbohm states there is no administrative cost to the project, because Carol will do the work involved as part of her daily duties, and volunteers are being secured to make deliveries. Mrs. Wessler’s donation will be used to help purchase the first year of additional large print titles for the Tarkio Branch of the library.  Four or five large print titles will be added to their collection each month.

Mrs. Rosenbohm would also like you to know that three new large print books were recently placed in the Tarkio Library in honor of Pat Wessler. “A monetary Christmas remembrance was made to the Tarkio community via the library, to purchase books that Pat would enjoy. Pat’s sister-in-law, Ruthanne Bullock of Damascus, Oregon, was the donor. What a special gift to be shared by many!”

If you would like to be a part of the home delivery service call Carol at 660-736-5832 to ask questions or get signed up for the service.
