Alice M. Hoshor, age 96, of Nebraska City, Nebraska, passed away surrounded by family on Monday, April 22, 2019, at the Ambassador in Nebraska City.

Alice Marie (Harders) Hoshor was born on May 11, 1922, in Glendale, Arizona, the daughter of Claus Waltimar and Clara Johanna (Fischer) Harders. She attended Grace Evangelical Lutheran School and Glendale Union High School and then graduated from Lamson’s Business College in Phoenix, Arizona.

On February 15, 1946, she was united in marriage to Charles William Hoshor at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Westboro, Missouri. He preceded her in death on June 2, 1999.

Alice was a member of the United Methodist Church in Nebraska City, where she was an active volunteer. She was a housewife, homemaker, and a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt.

In addition to her husband, Alice was preceded in death by her parents, Claus and Clara Harders; an infant son, Charles Michael Hoshor; son, John Scott Hoshor; grandson, Tyler Wayne Nelson; and a sister, Esther Harders. Those left to cherish her memory include: four children, Kathy Baker and husband, David, of Wichita, Kansas, Bruce Hoshor and wife, Donna, of Maple Grove, Minnesota, Terri Nelson and husband, Wayne, of Nebraska City, and Steven Hoshor and wife, Susan, of Nevada, Iowa; seven grandchildren, Ashley Baker, Jordon Hoshor, Haley Hoshor, Nicholas Hoshor, Cassandra Hoshor, Trent Nelson and Alyssa Nelson; nine great-grandchildren; one sister, Ruth Sanders of Novato, California; and other family and friends.

A Celebration of Life Service was held on Saturday, April 27, 2019, at the First United Methodist Church in Nebraska City with Pastor Charles Kathurima-Murithi officiating. Interment was in the Salem Cemetery near Maryville, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be directed to the First United Methodist Church in Nebraska City. Condolences may be left at Gude Mortuary in Nebraska City is in charge of arrangements.
