Tarkio Police Chief Tyson Gibbons manned the prescription drug take-back event Saturday, April 27, 2019, at City Hall. Around 100 pounds of unused or expired prescription drugs, filling four boxes, were collected. The event, sponsored by The Missouri Rural Water Association, DEA, Tarkio Board of Public Works, and Tarkio Police Department helps prevent the drugs from entering and contaminating the water system by people flushing them. Once turned in, the drugs will be disposed of by approved incineration methods.
