The FFA Leadership Development Event station was manned by Gena Mitchell and Katy Baker.

A group of Fairfax elementary students check out a tractor at Ag Day on April 23 that was presented by the Fairfax FFA chapter. Preschool through sixth graders learned about farm-related safety and enjoyed seeing animals at the petting zoo.

The Fairfax FFA Chapter hosted Elementary Ag Day April 23, 2019, in Fairfax, Missouri. Classes pre-school through sixth were invited to participate in learning about many different agricultural concepts, FFA contests, and even fire safety.

There were nine different stations including: FFA Leadership Development Event station, manned by Gena Mitchell and Katy Baker; Fire Safety, manned by Tyler Brown and Cody Helfers; ATV Safety, manned by Max Hopkins; Lawn Mower Safety, manned by Zach Garrison; PTO Safety, manned by Kaden Cooper and Josh Smith; Goat Milking, manned by Stephanie Litherbury; Bird Dog Station, manned by Mike Lewis; and Gun Safety, manned by Devon Sons and Eric Gilpin.

The petting zoo and animals were provided by: cows, Kaden Cooper; meat goats, Morgan O’Riley; dairy goats, Shelbey Morris; chickens, Olivia Morris; pigs, Oliver Smith; donkeys, Max Hopkins; rabbit, Jaelynn Hill  and Nina Ramirez.

Following the stations and lunch, the FFA Chapter assisted the elementary students in making butter from salt and heavy whipping cream.
