Members of the Tarkio High School Class of 2019 received their diplomas in a commencement ceremony held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, May 12, 2019, in the THS Gym. Twenty-nine seniors crossed the stage as Tarkio High School graduates, including Lance Benson Anderson, Hannah Nicole Brown, Chloe Abigail Bruns, *Skye Lynn Clark, Gabriella Jeanne DeRosier, James Alexander Driskell, James Lehman Elder, *Lily Rachel Graves, Wyatt James Gray, Jordan Elizabeth Heard, McKenzie Layne Hines, Jordyn Lynn Hogue, Emily Deann Hunt, *Kaely Renea Kirwan, Megan McKenzie Lee, Madison Lynn Lesher, *Grace Campbell Martin, *Robert Gage McAdams, Garrett Lee Meyer, Brian Alan Moseley, Jayce Edward Navin, *Catelyn Mackenzi Prater, Zachery Ryan Sapp, Shaylee Elizabeth Sparks, Lily Joann Steeby, Ashley Nicole Todd, Hunter William Lee Tunnell, Jayden Leslie Elizabeth Viets, and Troy Michael Wennihan (* denotes Missouri College Prepatory Studies). This year’s top five seniors were: valedictorian – Catelyn Prater, salutatorian – Kaely Kirwan, Lily Graves, Megan Lee, and Grace Martin. Junior escorts were Jae Barnett and Jake McEnaney.

The class song, “Good Old Days” by Macklemore, was played and the Tarkio High School band performed “Pomp & Circumstance.” Tarkio High School Principal Carrie Livengood led everyone in the Pledge of Allegiance. Tarkio R-I Superintendent Karma Coleman welcomed all in attendance and introduced the guest speaker, THS Counselor Tracy Cooper. A parent dedication slideshow was presented and then the Tarkio High School Chorus sang “Home” by Jay Althouse and “Back Home” by Andy Grammer. Catelyn Prater gave the valedictorian speech, followed by Kaely Kirwan giving the sa-lutatorian speech. Mrs. Livengood presented the class and Tarkio R-I School Board President Jeff Meyer presented the diplomas. Mrs. Livengood led everyone in the Pledge to the School Flag and the students filed out of the gym to their class song. They then formed a receiving line in the hallway.

The senior class motto was “Carpe Diem.” The class flower was the pink rose. The class colors were black and rose gold. Senior class officers were: Skye Clark, president; Emily Hunt, vice-president; Gage McAdams, secretary; Chloe Bruns, treasurer; and Wyatt Gray and Megan Lee, Student Council representatives. Senior National Honor Society members included Chloe Bruns, Skye Clark, Gabby DeRosier, Lily Graves, Kaely Kirwan, Megan Lee, Grace Martin, Gage McAdams, and Catelyn Prater. Class sponsors were Casey Martin and Dara Wennihan.
