The Tarkio/Westboro/Fairfax Food Pantry Board met May 14, 2019, with 10 members present. Churches represented at the meeting were the Baptist, Presbyterian, and First Christian Churches of Tarkio, Presbyterian Church from Fairfax, and St. John’s Lutheran and Methodist churches from Westboro.

In March, 101 individuals representing 47 families were served. In April, 124 individuals representing 55 families were assisted. Items that can be used at the food pantry include soups, cake mixes, peanut butter, jelly, sugar and flour. Monetary donations are always appreciated as the money allows the shelves to be stocked with the items that are most needed.

The Tarkio Baptist Church will open the food pantry in May. The Fairfax Presbyterians will be responsible for opening the food pantry in June. The food pantry will be open Tuesdays and Thursdays on the third and fourth weeks of each month from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. It is also open the third Tuesday of each month in the evening from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m.

The next meeting of the Food Pantry Board will be Tuesday, July 9, at 9:30 a.m. All board members are encouraged to attend. The Tarkio/Westboro/Fairfax Food Pantry is located at 415 Main Street in Tarkio.
