For the 17th year in a row, members of the Mule Barn Theatre Guild are awaiting the arrival of the little red truck from Missoula, Montana, with the directors, props and costumes to present two performances of “Pinocchio” at the Tarkio High School auditorium July 13, 2019, after a week of rehearsals. Boys and girls who have completed first grade through high school are encouraged to register to be in the show. Auditions that consist of a large circle “walk around” and “speak out” will be held Monday, July 8, at 1:00 p.m. in the auditorium. Everyone gets a part! After auditions kids will receive a rehearsal schedule for their part in the play. Not everyone will need to be at every rehearsal that is held each day from 10:00 a.m. until noon and from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Lunch is provided for those who are required to stay for more than one rehearsal. Not everyone rehearses at the same time. Practices for the youngest kids will likely be Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday only. Two workshops are held during the week as well. They are fun times and have been proven to be popular with the kids who participate.
The next meeting of the Guild will be Tuesday, July 9, 2019, at 5:30 p.m. in the Tarkio Resource Center. At that time Guild members will vote on revisions/updates of the by-laws. Copies of these revisions are available in the lobby of the Resource Center or at the Flower Mill.
Betsy Chapin, Guild president, reminds everyone that Guild memberships are always welcome and appreciated whether it be a renewal or a new member. The annual Guild Back to School Luncheon will be held in August.
