Tarkio Police Department, using their K9 Void, recently made two drug-related arrests in Tarkio. 

On June 18, 2019, at approximately 3:40 p.m., members of the Tarkio Police Department, K9 Void, and Rock Port Police Department executed search warrants issued by the Consolidated Circuit Court of Atchison County, Missouri, at 201 and 205 Elm St., Tarkio, the homes controlled by Richard Wayne Sparks (49 years of age). At the conclusion of the search, Sparks was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance, believed to be methamphetamine, and transferred to the Atchison County Sheriff’s Office in lieu of a $5,000 bond, for a Class D felony.

On June 19. 2019, at approximately 10:15 a.m., Tarkio Police Department arrested Jacqueline Riley, age 42, of Tarkio, Missouri, for possession of a controlled substance (suspected methamphetamine and Xanax) and drug paraphernalia following a stop for a traffic violation. K9 Void was requested to assist and alerted on the vehicle in question. Riley was held at the Atchison County Sheriff’s Office pending a bond from the Atchison County Consolidated Circuit Court.

Remember, everyone who is arrested and is charged with a crime is innocent until such time they are found guilty in a court of law.
