Food/drink and game booths will open following the parade.
Saturday night’s festivities will begin with a performance by an Elvis tribute artist. Ben Johnson began this singing career four years ago at the age of 18, and has performed for thousands of people and in many different venues. Ben’s dream is to show people of today who Elvis truly was back in the 50s and 60s. His mastery of Elvis’ voice and the authenticity of how the early Elvis sounded, how he sang, talked, and dressed, is quite evident in Ben’s performances.
Ben says “Elvis is my passion, my hobby, my hero, but Jesus Christ is my King.” A very talented young man, Ben also sings tributes to other great singers, such as Frank Sinatra, Johnny Cash, Glenn Campbell, and Tom Jones.
Entertainment will continue with local talent following the Elvis tribute.
Dance on the Slab will begin at 9:00 p.m.
Community church services will be held in the park Sunday, August 11, at 10:30 a.m.
The After Prom Committee will hold a dinner Sunday, 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., in the Fairfax Community Room.
A tractor pull is also planned for Sunday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. It will be held along Hwy. 59 across from the convenience store.
