The Watson Fire Department will have their annual fish fry this Saturday night, August 17, at 5:00 p.m. at the Watson Community Building. Due to flood waters, they can’t hold their fishing tournament, but will cook some fish anyway. It is free will donation, and the proceeds go to the Watson Fire Department for fire fighting needs. There will be fish, chicken, sides, and yummy desserts. Come one, come all.
Watson was founded 150 years ago this year. Come to our Founder’s Day event. It will be Saturday, August 24, beginning at 8:00 a.m. with a horseshoe pitching contest in the park. The horseshoes will be furnished by the Village of Watson. There will be a quilt show by the Watson Quilters from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Watson Community Building. A bounce house will be in the park at 4:00 p.m. A potluck picnic will be at 5:00 p.m. Bring your favorite dish and come on down. Drinks and tableware will be furnished. After the picnic, there will be lots of games to participate in, such as a hula hoop contest, tug of war, and more. Everything is free.
