Dale E. Faulkner, the son of Charles and Bertha (Smith) Faulkner, was born February 13, 1937, in Fairfax, Missouri. Dale graduated from Fairfax High School in 1955.
On June 1, 1957, Dale was united in marriage to Lila Mae Walker at the United Methodist Church, Tarkio, Missouri. They made their home in Tarkio and became the parents of two children, Doug and Stephenie. Dale was employed by the Walnut Factory, Fairfax, helping design wooden products. He was later employed by Super Chevrolet as the parts manager, Mayfield Pipeline, and became a partner at Livengood Accounting, all in Tarkio. On March 24, 1986, Dale was appointed and subsequently elected the County Clerk for Atchison County, Missouri, where he served more than 16 years, retiring in 2002. Dale passed away Tuesday, August 20, 2019, at Crestview Home, Bethany, Missouri, at the age of 82.
Dale was a member of the Tarkio United Methodist Church, Fairfax Masonic Lodge #483 A.F. & A.M., Scottish Rite 32nd Degree Mason and Cast Member of the 8th Degree. Dale was past president of the Missouri Association of County Clerks, member of the Silver Hair Legislation, Area Agency on Aging Association, and the Tarkio Nutrition Center Board.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Ezra Faulkner and Jim Faulkner; and sister, Myrtle Whitford. Survivors include his wife, Lila Mae Faulkner, Bethany; son, Doug (Barb) Faulkner, Bethany; daughter, Stephenie (Mike) Harris, St. Paul, Minnesota; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Carol Walker, Denver, Colorado, Barbara Walker, Atchison, Kansas, and Cathy Walker, Holt’s Summit, Missouri; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service and inurnment was held Saturday, August 24, 2019, at Home Cemetery, Tarkio. Rev. Julie Sanders officiated.
